Description
The wingfoil board for really surfing the wave
The Swell Pro is North's board for carving turns and surfing waves with the wing. North has completely redesigned it with a longer, narrower outline: it accelerates cleanly, gets up on the foil sooner and, being narrower, the rail barely touches the water when you turn hard or lean right over, so you connect better with the wave and turns are tighter. The Tri-Plane hull forgives touchdowns and releases without sticking, and the new Pro carbon construction with full PVC wrap, together with its low volume and weight, also helps with jumps and tricks.
Carbon with full PVC wrap · Sizes 4'8" – 5'4" · 45 – 85 L · Bag included
Who it's for
- Wingfoil riders who above all want to surf waves and swell and link surf-style turns.
- Advanced riders who want a low-volume board, below their weight, to gain control and agility.
- Anyone who also jumps and does tricks and wants a light, compact board.
- Riders from 45 to over 105 kg depending on size: five sizes from 45 to 85 L (on this page: 4'10").

*Official North data (length × width × thickness in inches). Float: to get going on your knees or standing and in light wind, choose a board with a volume similar to your weight. Advanced: North advises a board 25-30 L below your weight to gain stability, avoiding ending up 10 to 20 L below. North has only published the weight of the 5'2"; for the rest, ask us. This page sells the 4'10" size; the other sizes are on the other Swell Pro page. Check the sizes available in store in the selector.
“The Swell Pro feels incredibly intuitive and fluid when carving turns. Compact, reactive and it gives you a lot of confidence.”
Technology and construction
- Carbon with full PVC wrap: 100 % carbon outer shell over a thin layer of high-density closed-cell PVC foam that wraps the whole board and a light EPS core: maximum impact resistance with very little weight.
- Great fit in the wave: narrower nose and tail so the board feels small and agile and the outline touches the water less.
- Concave deck: it places your feet level with the foil, gives more leverage and heel-and-toe control, and acts as a counterweight so you do not feel the board lean so much.
- Maximum-traction pad: non-abrasive EVA with tactile and visual stance references, to place your feet quickly and feel the foil directly.
- Custom strap positions: centreline, V and offset inserts to customise your stance, with left or right foot forward. Straps not included.
- Tri-Plane hull: water flows from the central concave and the bevelled rails to the double-V keel: it takes off sooner, releases quickly, and the rails bevelled towards the tail forgive touchdowns at any angle.
- Auto-Stance balance point: you barely need to move your feet when switching from displacement mode to flying: the volume and the track position balance the weight of the rider and the foil.
- Refined bevelled rails: less drag and more comfort, with less water contact on touchdowns to release sooner and turn more smoothly.
- DropBox: the mast (or the Foil Drive) goes in already fitted with bolts and nuts in the track; it slides in, tightens and adjusts to your weight with the position guide next to the track. 165 × 90 mm tracks, compatible with most foils on the market.
- Titanium hardware: corrosion-resistant titanium M8 × 30 mm bolts and T-nuts, included.
- 2.4 GHz signal window: fibreglass zone that lets the remote's signal through: the board is Foil Drive ready.
Which one to choose?
- Seek Pro 2026: same Pro construction, but with a parallel, wider outline for freeride: more stable, easier to take off and more versatile if you are not going to surf the wave as much.
- Midi Pro 2027: mid-length and longer: more glide for light wind, parawing and downwind, and it links the ocean bumps with ease.
- Swell 2025: the previous version, with a shorter, wider shape and a less light construction.
Pair it with: a wing such as the Nova Pro 2026 or the Mode Pro 2027, the Sonar surfSFv2+ 2027 front wing with the Sonar UHM Carbon Mast and the Free-V Foil Strap Set or Free Foil Strap Set straps.
Frequently asked questions
Which Swell Pro size should I choose?+
It depends on how you get going. If you want to start on your knees or standing in light wind, North recommends a volume similar to your weight (for example, the 5'4" at 85 L up to 85 kg). If you already fly comfortably and want wave performance, choose a board 25-30 L below your weight: the 4'10" at 55 L, for example, from 75 kg.
Is it a board for learning?+
No. It is a low-volume board for riders who already fly comfortably and want to surf waves. For learning or progressing, the Seek or a higher-volume board is better. If you are just starting out, our guide What is wingfoiling? may help.
What's included?+
The board with its padded bag and the titanium DropBox hardware (4 M8 × 30 mm bolts and 4 T-nuts). Straps and foil are sold separately.
Can it be used with Foil Drive?+
Yes. It has a 2.4 GHz signal window and DropBox mount, so it is ready for Foil Drive electric-assist foiling.
Why are there two Swell Pro pages?+
It is the same North board (item 85013.260010). In the shop it is split across two pages by size: Swell Pro (4'8", 5'0", 5'2" and 5'4") and Swell Pro (4'10").
