Description
Maximum speed, drive and control
For riders who demand powerful freeride, with more speed, explosive pop on jumps and more hang time. The Mode Pro, with its stiff, light N-Weave45 frame and Matrix canopy, is designed for efficient power delivery and top-end stability. For 2027, North has refined the strut shape, panel layout and tip stitching technology, and increased the stiffness of the XL-T joint. All of this, together with the Carbon UDi-reinforced leading edge, gives an even quicker, more direct response. The ergonomic strut carries the modular ShiftLock track for fitting ShiftLock carbon handles of any length, a J-handle or a boom (sold separately).
Sizes 3.5 – 6.5 m · Wind 7 – 36 knots · N-Weave45 + Matrix · ShiftLock handles sold separately
Who it's for
- Advanced riders looking for speed, upwind ability and stability when heavily powered.
- Riders who want to jump high and stay in the air longer.
- Fast freeride riders who also do some waves and everyday sessions.
What makes it special
01 Carbon UDi
Carbon reinforcement inside the leading edge for a quick response.
02 ShiftLock handles or boom
Fit ShiftLock carbon handles or a boom as you prefer (sold separately).
03 New ergonomic strut
Its geometry relieves strain on the elbow.
04 New refined True Form profile
Accelerates quickly and holds its speed.
05 Stiffer leading edge and XL-T joint
They transmit power efficiently and directly.
06 Slightly flatter dihedral
More lift and better upwind performance.
07 New tip stitching
Stitching technology that protects the tips from abrasion.
08 Huge top end
Full control when you're overpowered.
09 Active Twist tips
Cleaner airflow and a smoother ride.
10 Refined Radiate Geometric and Load Diffuser panels
They spread the load for a taut, even canopy.
11 Compact silhouette and rounded tips
Fewer wingtip touches on the water.
12 LiteVision windows
Positioned for good visibility in gybes.
13 Connected dual HyperFlow inflation
Independent pressure in the leading edge and strut.
14 Expandable bag
Polyester bag that expands to store the wing with the ShiftLock boom fitted.
Where it shines: fast freeride in medium to strong wind, jumps, long upwind runs and heavily powered sessions; also the occasional wave session.

Data from North's official spec chart for the 2027 wings (handles: front / rear; sold separately). The official Mode Pro 2027 range doesn't include the 5.4 and 6.2 m sizes but rather the 5.5 m (9 – 24 knots, up to 70 kg) and the 6.5 m (7 – 21 knots, up to 80 kg), which you'll find on this other Mode Pro 2027 page; if you're interested in the 5.4 or 6.2 m, ask us. North points out that the ideal size depends on your weight, your level and your foil setup. Check the selector for the sizes available in store.
“The ultimate wing for riding powered up, pushing hard and jumping.”
Technology and construction
- High-load Matrix N-HTRS canopy: a high-performance, low-stretch material that gives more torsional strength and structural integrity, with more load and wind range.
- Trailing-edge tension and shape: slightly more open tips that tension the trailing edge for more speed and control; the curved trailing edge reduces drag.
- N-Weave45 frame: high-tenacity woven fibre laminated at 45 degrees to control twist and flex: a stiffer, lighter wing with very efficient power delivery.
- Stiffer leading edge and XL-T joint: an extra layer of N-Weave45 in the centre panel of the leading edge for more direct power transfer and a profile that doesn't distort.
- Carbon UDi: anti-deflection unidirectional carbon tapes along the whole leading edge for a more reactive frame.
- Modular ShiftLock mounting: slide and lock handles or a boom in any position: 1100 or 950 mm boom, 500, 400 or 250 mm handles, or a 400 mm front J-handle.
- Ergonomic strut geometry: a segmented strut for riding with two handles in a more comfortable position, with less arm fatigue; with a J-handle it's even more noticeable.
- Connected dual HyperFlow inflation: leading-edge and strut valves joined by a hose with a clamp, so you can inflate the strut to a higher pressure and inflate and deflate from a single point.
- Slightly flatter dihedral: thin, low-drag profiles that generate drive, lift and stability at higher speed: the faster you go, the more settled it feels.
- Includes: wing, wrist leash, Sonar T40 key, bag, compression strap, repair kit and sandbag.

Frequently asked questions
What's new in the Mode Pro 2027?+
North has refined the strut shape, panel layout and tip stitching, made the leading edge and XL-T joint stiffer and slightly flattened the dihedral for more lift and upwind ability. The refined True Form profile accelerates sooner and holds its speed better.
Does it include handles or a boom?+
No. It has the ShiftLock track and the handles or boom are bought separately. It includes the wing, wrist leash, Sonar T40 key, bag, compression strap, repair kit and sandbag.
Which size should I choose?+
North gives a guide weight per size: 3.5 m up to 40 kg, 4.2 m up to 50 kg, 4.8 m up to 60 kg, 5.5 m up to 70 kg and 6.5 m up to 80 kg. Then fine-tune according to your usual wind using the range in the chart.
Mode Pro or Nova Pro?+
The Mode Pro is the speed option: more top end, upwind ability and stability when heavily powered, ideal for big jumps. The Nova Pro is more neutral and versatile, designed for waves, freestyle and freeride.
