Description
Redesigned to jump higher
North's iconic 5-strut big air kite: wide wind range, effortless turning and great upwind ability. The Orbit 2026 was completely redesigned to fly smoother, jump higher and give more control in big air manoeuvres, with more precise turning and more hang time: the ideal kite for progressing in kiteloops. The N-Max2 frame allows a thinner, lighter leading edge, supported by a new 5-point bridle, and the aspect ratio goes from 4.3 to 5.2 with a more forward-flying, deeper-cambered profile.
5 struts · Sizes 6 – 14 m · Wind 8 – 36+ knots · Aspect ratio 5.2
Who it's for
- Intermediate to advanced riders who want higher jumps and more hang time.
- Anyone who wants to progress in kiteloops with a kite that flies forward and catches them quickly.
- Anyone looking for a latest-generation Orbit at a good price, with the same wind ranges as the 2027.
What makes it special
01 5-point Response bridle
The extra bridle point supports the thin leading edge and keeps the light frame stiff: controlled response, an energetic feel and more depower.
02 Thinner leading edge and struts
Less drag: it flies faster, turns more directly, gives more vertical lift and performs better in light wind. Kiteloops are faster and it catches you sooner.
03 Contoured PTP2 panels
A single zigzag transition panel reduces seam tension and smooths the profile from the leading edge to the canopy.
04 Higher aspect ratio
Goes from 4.3 to 5.2: a low-drag, high-lift profile that flies further forward in the window, with better upwind ability, more height and more hang time.
05 Thinner, swept tips
They give precise, highly reactive turning.
06 More forward, deeper-cambered profile
For higher jumps and easier kiteloops, with a smooth, energetic feel.
07 C-ARC curved arc
The segmented arc is slightly narrower at the shoulders and wider at the tips, to reduce drag and turn faster; the slightly deeper centre gives more lift.
08 5-strut stability
The five struts hold the canopy and keep the profile stable in strong wind: more range and more control.
Where it shines: big air and jumping in strong wind, kiteloops and gusty freeride.

Ranges from North's official chart for the Orbit 2026. If you're between two sizes, the bigger one gives you more power and hang time and the smaller one more control and turning speed. Higher aspect, more hang time
The Orbit 2026 went from an aspect ratio of 4.3 to 5.2 and debuted a thinner N-Max2 leading edge with a 5-point bridle. It flies further forward in the window, goes upwind better and keeps you in the air longer, without losing the stability of its five struts.
Technology and construction
- N-Max2 frame: pro-grade material, light and durable; its multi-layer longitudinal weave improves consistency and tear resistance and gives more dynamic turning.
- N-RS3 canopy: high-tenacity triple ripstop fabric.
- Ultralite StitchHold: seams with light high-tenacity thread, more resistant to wear.
- Low Profile bridle: low-profile, low-drag bridle lines.
- Three tuning options: three positions to adapt the kite's behaviour to your taste.
- DuraLite seam protection: reinforcements that protect the seams from abrasion.
- AirLite bladders: light air bladders to reduce overall weight.
- HyperFlow fast inflation: high-flow valve to inflate and deflate in no time.
- Light trailing-edge reinforcement: keeps the canopy taut without adding weight.
- Kevlar strut anchoring: reinforcement where the struts join the leading edge.
- Includes: kite, premium fabric bag, repair kit and sandbag.

Which one to choose?
- Orbit 2027: the new version, with refined bridle and profile for a more playful feel and more precise turning; same wind ranges.
- Orbit Ultra: the fastest, most reactive Orbit, with N-u80 frame and 6 bridle points, for expert riders and competition.
- Reach 2026: North's most versatile kite for freeride, light wind and waves, if jumping isn't your main focus.
Pair it with: the North Navigator Control System bar and a big air twintip such as the Atmos 2027 or the Atmos Pro 2027.
Frequently asked questions
What size Orbit 2026 do I need?+
It depends on your weight, your board and your usual wind. As a reference, North gives a range of 14 to 32 knots for the 9 m, 12 to 29 for the 10 m and 10 to 25 for the 12 m. If you're torn between two sizes, drop us a line and we'll help you choose.
What changed on the Orbit 2026?+
It was a complete redesign: thinner N-Max2 leading edge, 5-point bridle, PTP2 panels, aspect ratio from 4.3 to 5.2, thinner tips and a more forward, deeper-cambered profile. It flies smoother, jumps higher and turns more precisely.
Is it worth it over the Orbit 2027?+
If you can find your size and colour, yes: it shares the basis of the 2026 redesign and the same wind ranges. The 2027 fine-tunes the bridle and profile for a more playful feel.
Is it good for learning kiteloops?+
Yes, North calls it the ultimate kite for progressing in kiteloops. You'll find tips in big air kitesurfing and how to do a megaloop.
What's included?+
The kite, the bag, the repair kit and the sandbag. The bar is sold separately.
