Description

WAVES · STRAPLESS FREESTYLE

Drift and turning for the wave

The Neo 2025 is Duotone's versatile wave kite. Compared with the previous generation it introduces a new wingtip shape and construction, with more Trinity TX to cut weight and improve drift, and a slightly deeper profile that adds low-end power and makes the steering very responsive. The wingtips have several settings to tune it for waves or strapless freestyle.

Trinity TX construction · Sizes 3 – 12 m · Wind 11 – 42 knots · Wingtip settings

WHO IT'S FOR

Who it's for

  • Wave riders looking for a kite with great drift and fast turning.
  • Riders who mix waves and strapless freestyle and want to tune the kite to the day.
  • Riders who want to cover more days with fewer kites thanks to its low-end power and depower.
KEY FEATURES

What makes it special

01 Excellent drift

Famous for its drift: the kite floats while you ride down the wave and all you have to worry about is surfing.

02 Faster, better-initiated turning

The new wingtip shape and construction improve turning speed and response, making it even more dynamic.

03 Plenty of power and great depower

It gets going in very light wind, so you can ride a smaller size, and its depower keeps you on the water when the wind picks up.

04 Dynamic handling

It turns very quickly and reacts instantly to the bar, making it one of the most reactive kites on the market.

05 Geometry tailored to each size

The larger sizes have a flatter arc and less sweep in the wingtips for more power; the smaller ones have more sweep and a deeper arc for extra manoeuvrability.

Where it shines: wave kitesurfing, strapless freestyle on flat water and gusty wind days.

*Weight without bag. Data from Duotone's official chart. In brackets, the alternative line length given by Duotone. Duotone does not specify a recommended bar width for this model: ask us. If you are between two sizes, the smaller one will give you faster turning and more drift on the wave. To choose a size based on your weight and usual wind, see our kite size guide. TECHNOLOGY

Technology and construction

  • Trinity TX: Duotone's exclusive canopy fabric, developed with Teijin, with a 3x2 yarn weave: more durable and with better dynamic response than 2x2 or 4x4 fabrics.
  • Fusion Strut: the struts are joined to the leading edge along their full length with a flexible Dyneema line, which spreads forces in a controlled way and keeps the canopy taut with a clean profile.
  • Load Distribution Panels: reinforcement panels that spread forces across the canopy and hold the kite's shape even under extreme loads, for smoother, more consistent behaviour.
  • Modern Trailing Edge Design: narrower trailing edge with a lighter combination of materials, which reduces wear and leaves a cleaner profile.
  • Heavy Duty Leading Edge Closing Seam: leading edge closing seam reinforced with Insignia adhesive tape and double stitching, highly resistant to high tension and diagonal forces.
  • Double-V Pigtails: double-V connection pigtails that spread the line load across the kite: less material fatigue, less deformation and smoother turning.
  • Anti Snag: tape on the wingtips that stops the lines from snagging on the end of the kite; it makes relaunching from the water easier and adds safety.
  • Kook Proof Connectors: foolproof line connectors: it is impossible to attach a line in the wrong place when setting up the kite.
COMPARE

Which one to choose?

  • Neo 2026: the next generation, with a lower aspect ratio to turn faster with less effort and more consistency under load.
  • Neo 2027: the latest Neo, with smooth, predictable handling and the drift it has always had.
  • Neo SLS 2027: the most direct and sporty version, with a Penta TX frame; for advanced riders in demanding waves.

Pair it with: the Click Bar Quad Control 2027 (the most complete, with trim on the bar) or the Trust Bar Quad Control 2027 (simpler), and a surfboard: the Blur SLS 2027 for medium and large waves, the Volt SLS 2027 for small waves or the Whip SLS 2027 for strapless freestyle.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What size Neo do I need?+

It depends on your weight, your board and your usual wind. In waves riders usually choose slightly less surface area than for freeride to gain turning and drift; check the chart and our kite size guide.

How does it differ from the Neo 2026?+

The 2026 reduces the aspect ratio to turn faster with less bar pressure, and gains structural consistency under load. We look at it in Neo 2025 vs 2026: the real differences.

What are the wingtip settings for?+

They let you adapt the kite to the day: more boost for jumps and powerful loops in strapless freestyle, or more drift and turning speed for surfing waves.

Which bar and lines do I need?+

It works with the Duotone Click Bar or Trust Bar Quad Control. Duotone recommends 22 m lines, with the option of 24 m depending on the size (see the chart).
