Description
Speed when the wave has no push
Duotone's high-performance surfboard for small and medium waves, designed by Sky Solbach with SLS construction. It shines when the waves are mushy: it gets going with very little kite pull, holds speed through slow sections and turns tight with hold.
SLS construction · Sizes 4'11" – 5'3" · Riders 50 – 85+ kg · TS-M fins
Who it's for
- Intermediate to advanced riders who surf small or medium beach breaks.
- Anyone who often rides mushy waves or light wind and needs a board that generates speed by itself.
- Riders looking for fluid surfing and tight turns with hold.
- Riders from 50 kg to over 85 kg, in three sizes.
What makes it special
01 Fast and agile in small waves
Designed for fast, fluid surfing in small and medium waves, with speed, control and agility thanks to the shape and SLS construction.
02 Effortless speed
Low entry rocker and more volume and area under the front foot: it accelerates instantly and holds momentum with very little kite power.
03 Tight turns with hold
The refined Double Concave bottom increases grip and stability for precise turns and attacking the wave face.
04 Strong, light and reactive feel
SLS construction combines strength and low weight for a reactive, durable board.
05 Smooth in chop
The Innegra Shield reduces vibrations and improves durability, for more stable riding in rough water.
06 Less fatigue on the wave
The Cork Shock Absorber 2.0 smooths out impacts and vibrations for longer, more comfortable sessions.
Where it shines: pop for strapless freestyle, early planing and stability for freeride, quick turns and speed generation in medium waves, drive and control in big waves.
Sizes and recommended weight
| SIZE | VOLUME | RIDER WEIGHT | FINS | BOARD WEIGHT* |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4'11" × 18 15/16" × 2 1/8" | 20.80 L | 50 – 70 kg | TS-M | 2.7 kg |
| 5'1" × 19 3/16" × 2 3/16" | 22.50 L | 70 – 90 kg | TS-M | 2.8 kg |
| 5'3" × 19 7/16" × 2 5/16" | 24.80 L | Over 85 kg | TS-M | 2.95 kg |
*Weight tolerance ±6% according to Duotone. The 5'1" and 5'3" overlap between 85 and 90 kg: in that range, the 5'3" (24.80 L) planes earlier in mushy waves and the 5'1" (22.50 L) is more agile in turns. Check the selector for sizes available in store.

Technology and construction
- SLS construction (Strong Light Superior): Duotone's range for maximum performance with no compromises; a strong, light and very reactive board.
- Innegra SLS Surfboard: Innegra replaces fibreglass: a light, tough board, more lively, with greater impact resistance and precise, predictable response without adding weight.
- Innegra Shield: reduces vibrations and increases durability, for smoother, more controlled riding in chop.
- Cork Shock Absorber 2.0: smooths impacts and reduces fatigue for a more connected feel throughout the session.
- Responsive Flex: bamboo and composite layers for dynamic flex and torsional response.
- Grab Rails: make freestyle grabs easier, increase durability and give comfortable control while riding.
- Multibox: Futures-compatible boxes, with side screws and no rear tab; precise, easy mounting even with sand or salt. TS-M fins.
Which one to choose?
- Volt D/LAB: same shape and volumes with carbon, RMF 3.0 and Innegra in the rails; lighter (2.56 to 2.84 kg). The Volt SLS is more affordable.
- Whip SLS: also for small and medium waves, with a hip-squash tail and more rocker for tighter turns, and also geared towards strapless freestyle.
- Blur SLS: the all-rounder of the range, with longer sizes (5'3" to 5'9") and a round tail for waves with more size and power.
Pair it with: the Traction Pad Front (Duotone's front pad for surfboards) and the Single Surf bag to protect the rails in transport.
Frequently asked questions
What size Volt SLS do I need?+
According to the official chart: 4'11" for 50 to 70 kg, 5'1" for 70 to 90 kg and 5'3" for over 85 kg. Between 85 and 90 kg you can choose the 5'1" (more agile) or the 5'3" (planes earlier).
What is the difference between the Volt SLS and the Volt D/LAB?+
SLS and D/LAB share the same shape, volumes and weight ranges. The SLS uses Innegra instead of fibreglass, Innegra Shield and Cork Shock Absorber 2.0; the D/LAB adds carbon construction, Innegra reinforcement in the rails and RMF 3.0 with memory, and weighs less in every size. The SLS is the more affordable option.
What waves and wind is it for?+
For small and medium waves, especially mushy ones; according to Duotone it gets going with very little support from the kite.
Is it for beginners?+
Duotone defines it as a high-performance board; its ease in holding speed helps, but it is designed for riders who already kite surf.
Which fins does it use?+
The official chart lists the TS-M set in all sizes. The Multibox boxes are Futures-compatible, so they also take composite or aftermarket Futures fins.
