Description

HIGH-PERFORMANCE ALL-ROUND · CONCEPT BLUE

The same Evo SLS, with more responsible materials

The Concept Blue version of the Evo SLS 2027: the same high-performance all-round kite for freeride, jumping and waves, with undyed fabric, a bio-based bladder and recycled polymer components. According to Duotone it flies just like the Evo SLS 2027: no Flex Strut, thinner, stiffer struts and higher inflation pressure for powerful take-offs and fast turning even when loaded.

SLS construction · Sizes 6 – 13 m · Wind 9 – 38 knots · Undyed fabric

Rider jumping with a Duotone Evo SLS 2027, the same kite as the Concept Blue version
WHO IT'S FOR

Who it's for

  • Progressing riders, from fresh out of lessons to advanced level, who want one kite for many conditions.
  • Anyone looking to jump high with hangtime without a demanding kite.
  • Riders who care about reducing the impact of their gear without giving up performance.
  • Riders who mix twintip, waves on a directional and the odd loop.
KEY FEATURES

What makes it special

01 All-round for progressing riders

A versatile design for freeride, jumping and waves in all kinds of conditions.

02 Explosive take-off

The stiff SLS frame and refined canopy profile give a fast climb and powerful vertical take-offs.

03 Hangtime for tricks

More shape stability and cleaner airflow: it floats longer and with more control in the air.

04 Control in any conditions

Progressive bar pressure and higher canopy tension make it stable and predictable when you're overpowered.

05 Precise under load

Thin, stiff struts replace the Flex Strut: less unwanted flex, fast turning and precise control with the kite loaded.

06 Instant reaction

Higher inflation pressure gives a stiffer frame with a lighter feel and direct steering.

Where it shines: gusty freeride, intermediate-to-advanced jumping and big air, kiteloops and waves on a directional board.

Data from the official Evo SLS 2027 chart: Duotone states that the Concept Blue behaves the same and has not yet published its own chart, so weights may vary slightly; the 6 m has no official data yet: ask us. Duotone Evo SLS Concept Blue 2027 kite with undyed fabric
CONCEPT

Same performance, different materials

Undyed fabric, a bio-based bladder with up to 57% bio-based carbon and technical polymer components made partly from post-industrial recycled material. Duotone keeps the performance of the Evo SLS 2027 fully intact within its Concept Blue philosophy.

TECHNOLOGY

Technology and construction

  • Concept Blue materials: undyed canopy fabric, bio-based bladder (up to 57% bio-based carbon) and partly recycled technical polymer components; on the water it behaves like the Evo SLS 2027.
  • Penta TX frame: leading edge and centre strut fabric that replaces Dacron: 15% less weight, five times more tear resistance and 50% less elongation. You feel it as a more precise feel, especially in strong wind.
  • Trinity TX: Duotone's exclusive canopy fabric, developed with Teijin. Its 3x2 weave is stronger and more responsive than 2x2 or 4x4 fabrics.
  • MOD 3S: canopy reinforcement fabric with triple the tear resistance and much less stretch than previous generations, so the kite holds its shape in demanding conditions.
  • 6-point bridle: supports the frame and keeps the leading edge stable and compact; it delivers power smoothly and directly, extends the usable wind range and gives stability in strong gusts.
  • Seam between leading edge segments: increases the frame's strength, stiffness and flight stability with the lightest possible construction.
  • Single Stitch trailing edge: a trailing edge with a single seam: less weight, less flutter and a cleaner, more aerodynamic profile that extends the kite's life.
  • Micro Loop Connections: connections 40% smaller than usual to take weight off the leading edge.
  • Micro Batten Construction: canopy battens 40% lighter: less weight and a cleaner finish without losing durability or performance.
  • Anti Snag: anti-snag tape on the tips that stops the lines wrapping around the tip; it makes relaunching from the water easier and increases safety.
  • Kook Proof Connectors: foolproof line connection points: it's impossible to connect the lines wrongly when setting up the kite.

COMPARE

Which one to choose?

  • Evo SLS 2027: the same kite in dyed colours and in sizes from 5 to 13 m. Choose the Concept Blue if you prefer lower-impact materials.
  • Evo D/LAB 2027: the lightest, stiffest version in the family, with an Aluula D/TX frame, for riders after maximum performance.
  • Rebel SLS Concept Blue 2027: the same materials idea in the big air specialist kite. Choose the Evo if you want a more versatile kite.
  • Evo SLS 2026: the previous generation, with Flex Struts and sizes from 7 to 13 m.

Pair it with: the Click Bar Quad Control 2027 (the most complete, with on-bar trim) or the Trust Bar Quad Control 2027 (simpler), and the Jaime SLS 2027 twintip for jumping and freeride.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Does the Concept Blue fly differently from the Evo SLS 2027?+

No. Duotone states that it has the same performance; what changes are the materials: undyed fabric, a bio-based bladder and recycled polymer components.

What size do I need?+

It depends on your weight, your board and your usual wind. As a reference, the official Evo SLS 2027 chart gives the 9 m 14 to 34 knots and the 12 m 10 to 27 knots; a two-kite quiver (for example 9 and 12 m) covers most days. Write to us with your weight and your spot and we'll recommend sizes.

What changes compared with the Evo SLS 2026?+

The Flex Strut is gone, the struts are thinner and stiffer, and the inflation pressure goes up. We explain each new feature one by one in Evo SLS 2027: what changes compared with the 2026.

Which bar and lines do I need?+

It works with the Duotone Click Bar and Trust Bar Quad Control bars. Duotone recommends 22 m lines and an S bar for 7 to 9 m, and 24 m lines and an M bar for 10 to 13 m; for the 6 m, ask us.

Why is it white?+

Because the fabric isn't dyed: it's the material's natural colour (C05, undyed). Not dyeing it avoids that process, as part of Duotone's Concept Blue philosophy.
