Description

WINGFOIL · ALL-ROUND

One wing for everything, more compact than ever

The Unit is Duotone's all-round wing for freeride, freestyle and waves. For 2027 it debuts a shorter centre strut that reduces inertia and gives a more compact feel in the hands, a refined profile distribution to generate power more efficiently and new windows so you can see better what is happening around you. It takes a boom or Fusion handles.

MOD3s canopy · Sizes 2.0 – 6.5 m² · Wind 7 – 45 knots · Boom or Fusion handles

WHO IT'S FOR

Who it's for

  • Riders looking for a single wing for almost everything: freeride cruising, first jumps and tricks, and waves.
  • Those learning or progressing who want a smooth, predictable pull that doesn't scare them in the gusts.
  • Riders who value the durability of the MOD3s canopy and being able to choose between boom and handles.
KEY FEATURES

What makes it special

01 Total versatility

Designed to perform in freeride, freestyle and waves, it combines intuitive handling, efficient power delivery and balanced behaviour in any conditions.

02 Compact handling

The shorter centre strut reduces the wing's inertia and makes it more compact: more manoeuvrable and smoother between gusts and lulls.

03 Balanced power

The refined profile distribution generates power efficiently and keeps the pull smooth and predictable across a very wide wind range.

04 Direct response

The fine-tuned canopy tension and wingtip twist clean up the aerodynamics, stabilise the profile and connect you more with the wing.

05 Stable when flagged out

The optimised profile improves drift and stability when you flag out the wing to surf waves or swell.

06 Better visibility

The new window layout lets you see your surroundings better without compromising the clean profile.

Where it shines: freeride in all kinds of wind, freestyle jumps and tricks, and waves or swell with the wing flagged out.

*Wing weight without handles or boom. Data from Duotone's official chart. The Fusion handles and boom are not included: the columns show the size Duotone recommends for each wing size (the 2.0 only takes a boom). Duotone recommends a 4" (M) leash up to the 4.5 and a 5" (L) leash from the 5.0. Duotone does not publish a rider weight per size: choose based on your weight and usual wind and, if you are unsure between two sizes, ask us. Check the selector for the sizes and colours available in store.

“Its compact handling means it reacts instantly to every movement. It delivers smooth, predictable power and lots of control in any conditions.”

TECHNOLOGY

Technology and construction

  • Shorter centre strut: a more compact wing with less inertia when you move it: more manoeuvrable and smoother between gusts and lulls.
  • Refined profile distribution: less depth in the centre and more towards the quarters of the wing: more efficient power and more stability when you flag out the wing.
  • Optimised canopy tension and wingtip twist: cleaner aerodynamics, a more stable profile and direct response for precise control across the whole range.
  • New window layout: better visibility on the water without losing canopy tension or performance.
  • MOD3s canopy: high-performance fabric that maintains canopy tension, profile stability and durability over time.
  • Fusion boom or handles option: lets you fit a boom or handles on the same wing and adapt it to your riding style.
  • Wide leading edge handle: comfortable one-handed control and intuitive wing positioning while you surf or carry it flagged out.
  • Moulded mini batten pockets: help maintain canopy stability and the wing's performance in the long term.

COMPARE

Which one to choose?

  • Unit SLS 2027: the lightweight high-performance version: PentaTX frame with an Aluula Gold centre panel, stiffer and more direct. For those who have already mastered the basics and want more reactivity.
  • Unit D/LAB 2027: the lightest and stiffest in the range, with a full Aluula Gold frame and a thinner leading edge for more speed. From 3.5 to 6.5 m².
  • Unit 2026: the previous season, if you are looking for an original-construction Unit and are happy with the design before the 2027 updates.

Pair it with: the Fusion Boom or the Fusion handle set (not included with the wing), the Leash Wrist Coiled wrist leash, a board such as the Sky Style SLS 2027 or the Skybrid SLS 2027 and the Duotone pump.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What size Unit 2027 do I need?+

It depends on your weight, your board and your usual wind. As a reference, Duotone gives the 5.0 a range of 10 to 25 knots and the 4.0 a range of 14 to 30 knots. Many riders combine two sizes to cover light days and windy days. If in doubt, ask us with your weight and your riding spot.

Does the wing come with handles or a boom?+

No. Duotone sells the Unit without handles or boom so you can choose the Fusion system you prefer: M handles (43/31 cm) for the 2.5 and 3.0, L handles (55/31 cm) from 3.5 to 6.5, and an S boom (72 cm) for the 2.0, M (84 cm) for the 2.5 and 3.0 and L (96 cm) from 3.5 to 6.5.

What has changed compared with the Unit 2026?+

The new features Duotone highlights for 2027 are the shorter centre strut, the new profile distribution, the fine-tuned canopy tension and wingtip twist, the new windows and greater use of MOD3s in the canopy. If you prefer the previous version, we still have the Unit 2026.

Unit, Unit SLS or Unit D/LAB?+

They share the same shape and concepts. The Unit (original construction) is the most affordable; the SLS adds a lighter, stiffer frame for a more direct response; the D/LAB has the full Aluula Gold frame, is the lightest and fastest and is designed for demanding riders.

Is it suitable for learning to wingfoil?+

Yes: its smooth, predictable pull and intuitive handling make it very rewarding for progressing, and it keeps performing once you start jumping or surfing waves. If you are just starting out, our article what is wingfoiling covers the basics.
