The Duotone NEO SLS 2022 is one of the many climate-neutral products from the manufacturer Duotone. What does this mean? You've surely read or heard a lot about CO2 emissions offsetting (CO2 offset) in sports products, or about manufacturers referring to this concept on their product labelling. Well, these products are given this label (climate neutral) when the environmental emissions resulting from their manufacture have been counteracted or offset by other projects that help the environment.

Main features of the Duotone Neo SLS

Built with Penta TX. With its new Strong Light Superior update, the Neo also takes the opportunity to include new materials in its construction. The main one to highlight is Penta TX, a new material used to build the kite's frame. This frame offers a very stiff structure.

The initials SLS stand for Strong, Light, Superior. These initials distinguish Duotone's most demanding and revolutionary products. So whenever you see SLS on a Duotone product, you know you're looking at the "crème de la crème”.
Do you know what Dacron is? Yes, that heavy material used in previous kites… well, it has been replaced by a new material called Penta TX. By now it will sound familiar, as we talked about it a little further up this post.
Penta TX makes the Duotone Neo SLS lighter than previous ones, and not just a little… quite a lot! The weight can be reduced by up to 15% depending on the kite size.
The Neo SLS flies perfectly well in light winds, and the reduced weight means it stays airborne for longer.
The main advantage of this kite comes when there are waves, where drift is essential, and even more so in onshore conditions, where you often end up with little tension in the lines.

Frame built with Penta TX
This material not only gives you a lighter kite but also superior strength. It has 5 times greater tear resistance than a kite made with conventional materials!
The frame is much stiffer thanks to its Penta TX construction. This gives you great performance at the lower end of the wind range and superior performance at the upper end.
New trailing edge design
Its narrower trailing edge, with a combination of lighter materials, reduces wear and creates a slimmer profile.
Kook Proof connectors
The Neo SLS has safety points called kook proof. These connection points prevent accidents such as connecting the kite's lines incorrectly.
Self Rescue Handles
The Neo SLS has handles for use in an emergency. These handles serve for self-rescue in case the kite breaks out at sea. They're located on the inside of the kite and will let you get back to the shore safely.
Tougher leading edge
All Duotone SLS kites are extremely tough. As with the Duotone Evo SLS and the Duotone Dice SLS the special sealing seams are high-performance. The Dacron of the leading edge is reinforced with self-adhesive Insignia tape and additional double stitching. The sealing seam for the leading edge is resistant to high tension and diagonal forces.
The Flex struts of the Duotone Neo SLS
As we said earlier, this new 2022 update brings Flex struts, a perfect complement to a stiff kite frame. Kites in Duotone's SLS range have the agility of a three-strut kite combined with the stiffness and solid structure of a five-strut kite. The Flex struts are made of a softer material that lets them bend and twist precisely. Steering inputs are translated smoothly and quickly into the turns you want to make.
