Description
All of the Navigator Pro, with the trim within reach
The Navigator Pro Short Throw shortens the bar throw and brings the trim handle 10 cm closer, so smaller-build riders can reach the bar with the kite fully depowered. North recommends it with kites of 12 m or less, to have enough depower in strong wind. It has the same components and features as the Navigator Pro, with the Connect V2 quick release and top-quality Dyneema SK99 Pro lines, and it’s compatible with all Connect V2 loops.
Width 45-50 cm · Trim 10 cm closer · Kites of 12 m or less · 22 m Pro lines (12 + 10 m)
Who it's for
- Smaller-build riders who can’t comfortably reach the bar when they fully depower it.
- Anyone riding kites of 12 m or less, such as the Orbit or the Reach in medium and small sizes.
- Riders who want all the features of the Navigator Pro: auto-untwist, SK99 Pro lines and Connect V2 quick release.
- Anyone who often rides in strong wind and needs to depower without stretching their arms.
What makes it special
01 Transformed control for smaller riders
The short throw completely changes the handling for anyone with shorter arms: you control the kite with the bar always within reach.
02 Everything within reach
The trim handle sits 10 cm closer, more comfortable and better suited to your body.
03 For kites of 12 m or less
Pair it with kites up to 12 m to have enough depower in strong wind.
04 Reliable auto-untwist
The centre lines untwist by themselves and rotate without friction at any temperature.
05 Smoother trim
Renewed power support for smoother trimming and less wear on the rope.
06 20% stronger bar
Fibre-filled polymer inner frame that reinforces it without adding weight.
07 Safe Connect V2 quick release
One-move reload, with a stiffer safety finger, smaller loop and 20 mm more travel.
08 Less risk of accidental release or unhooking
The whole system is designed so it doesn’t open and you don’t unhook by accident.
09 Tool-free modular InterLoop system
Switch between freeride, freestyle or surf sliding loop in seconds.
10 Compatible with any kite
Low-V split for any kite with a Low-V bridle; for High-V, with the High-V Split Kit.
11 Nautical colour coding
Red to port and blue to starboard so you grab the bar the right way first time.
12 ISO-21853 certified
Meets the international safety standard for kitesurf release systems.
Where it shines: medium and strong wind days with kites of 12 m or less, freeride, jumps and progression for smaller-build riders who need to depower fully without losing control.
Width, lines and recommended kites
| SIZE | BAR WIDTH | LINES | RECOMMENDED KITES |
|---|---|---|---|
| M (Short Throw) | 45 – 50 cm | 22 m (12 + 10 m), Ø 1.55 / 1.3 mm | 12 m or less |
Official North data for the Navigator Pro Short Throw 2027: North recommends using it with kites of 12 m or less to have enough depower in strong wind. The width adjusts by 5 cm (45 or 50 cm) by rotating the bar ends 180°. If you use larger kites, see the standard-throw Navigator Pro. Check the selector for availability in store.

Within arm’s reach
If you’re of smaller build, with a standard bar you may struggle to reach the bar when you fully depower. The Short Throw shortens the bar throw and brings the trim 10 cm closer, so you have the power under control with your arms in a natural position and without giving up anything of the Navigator Pro.
