Description
Carving is no crime
In this third generation of the SK8, F-ONE has refined the profile and outline to deliver a true surf feel: constant pressure at all times, whether you're carving in the critical part of the wave or winging overpowered in choppy water. Narrower tips and a perfected carbon layup make it fast, playful, more manoeuvrable and more efficient in light wind.
What's included: the SK8 Monobloc front wing (wing and front fuselage in a single piece) and the Monobloc Tail Carving stabiliser listed for each size. The mast is sold separately.
SK8 wing + Carving stabiliser · Aspect ratio 8.0 · 550 to 1150 cm² · TITAN 2 connection
Who it's for
- Wing foilers who want a fast foil with good upwind ability and a surf feel for waves and choppy water.
- Surf foil and pocket wing in small waves, whitewater and long waves.
- Anyone looking for one very versatile foil for almost everything.
What makes it special
01 Aspect ratio 8.0
The balance between glide and manoeuvrability that has made the SK8 a benchmark.
02 Balanced foot pressure
The new profile spreads pressure between front and back foot at all times: no overpowering, no sudden pulls or pitching.
03 Refined outline and tips
Better rail-to-rail roll and precise manoeuvrability; it handles tip breaches with ease.
04 Updated layup
More control and overall stability, especially at high speed.
05 Agile across the range
Stays loose and reactive across the whole speed range, even when overpowered.
06 The most versatile in the range
Designed to do it all: waves, choppy water, wing freeride and open-ocean bumps.
07 TITAN 2 connection
Greater structural efficiency at the mast joint: better glide and a more direct feel.
Where it shines: wing foiling in waves and choppy water, surf foil, pocket wing and fast freeride with good upwind ability.
Sizes and specs
| SIZE | STABILISER INCLUDED | WINGSPAN | ASPECT RATIO | WING WEIGHT* |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 550 cm² | Carving 138 XS | 67 cm | 8.2 | 0.93 kg |
| 650 cm² | Carving 138 XS | 72.5 cm | 8.1 | 0.99 kg |
| 750 cm² | Carving 138 XS | 77.5 cm | 8 | 1.09 kg |
| 850 cm² | Carving 158 XS | 82.5 cm | 8 | 1.20 kg |
| 950 cm² | Carving 158 XS | 87 cm | 8 | 1.26 kg |
| 1050 cm² | Carving 178 XXS | 91.5 cm | 8 | 1.39 kg |
| 1150 cm² | Carving 198 XXS | 96 cm | 8 | 1.50 kg |
*Weight of the Monobloc front wing. The Monobloc Tail Carving stabiliser weighs 0.24 kg (138 and 158 XS) or 0.25 kg (178 and 198 XXS). Official F-ONE data. Smaller sizes are faster and more radical; larger ones take off earlier and work better in light wind or for heavier riders. Check the selector for the sizes available in store.
Technology and construction
- Monobloc front wing: the wing and fuselage are moulded together in a single piece, with no joint between them. Eliminating that joint removes play and unwanted movement, and the feel on the water is more direct and reliable
- Monobloc Tail Carving: HM carbon stabiliser moulded with the rear fuselage, with quick pumping, constant lift and lively turns
- TITAN 2 connection: revised design of the joint between mast and foil, more efficient, stiffer and more reliable at the most heavily loaded point of the assembly
- HM (High Modulus) carbon: Toray M40J high-modulus fibre, 1.5 times stiffer than the standard carbon of other constructions
- PrePreg carbon: carbon fibre pre-impregnated with epoxy resin by the manufacturer itself, for a more uniform, lighter and stronger layup
- DSD (Dynamic Structural Design): F-ONE tailors the carbon layup to the specific programme and use of each foil, because construction matters as much as shape
SK8 on the water
Which one to choose?
- Plane Sushi: less speed and more rail-to-rail roll; better in steep, short-period waves.
- Plane Seven Seas: more surface area and ease, geared towards downwind and light wind.
- Plane SK8 V2: the previous generation of the SK8, with TITAN connection.
Pair it with: a mast with TITAN 2 connection: HM Carbon Mast 14, UHM Carbon Mast 14, UHM Carbon Mast 12, Carbon Mast 16 or the aluminium Pack Alu Mast Titan 2, and a board such as the Rocket Wing - S, the Rocket Free Surf or the Rocket Surf.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly does the Plane SK8 include?+
The SK8 Monobloc front wing (with its integrated fuselage) and the Monobloc Tail Carving stabiliser: 138 XS on the 550, 650 and 750; 158 XS on the 850 and 950; 178 XXS on the 1050 and 198 XXS on the 1150. Mast and board are not included.
Which mast do I need?+
Any F-ONE mast with TITAN 2 connection. In carbon, the HM Carbon Mast 14 is the most versatile, the UHM Carbon Mast 14 adds more stiffness (ideal for heavier riders) and the UHM Carbon Mast 12 goes for maximum glide; in aluminium, the Pack Alu Mast Titan 2 is the most affordable and toughest option.
SK8 or Sushi?+
The Sushi doesn't replace the SK8, it complements it: it has a little less speed and more rail-to-rail roll, and it shines in steep, short-period waves. The SK8 is faster and more versatile, including for wing.
What's changed in this third generation?+
Refined profile and outline for more constant pressure, narrower tips, an improved carbon layup and the new TITAN 2 connection.
