Description

SURF FOIL · WAVES

Let it roll

F-ONE's SUSHI is all about roll and control. It was born for pure surf foiling: a wing with less speed, more roll and maximum manoeuvrability so you can stay close to the lip and link quick, precise manoeuvres in steep, short-period waves. Its high-camber profile gives an incredible low end, with smooth, constant lift throughout the turn, and pumping back out to the peak takes very little effort.

This page covers the 740 cm² size, a mid size, the range's balance point between speed and lift.

WHO IT'S FOR

Who it's for

  • Surf foilers who want to stay in the critical part of the wave and turn tight.
  • Steep, short-period waves, where control and roll matter more than speed.
  • K-wing, pocket wing or tow riders looking for a surfy wing that also goes upwind well.
KEY FEATURES

What makes it special

01 Maximum roll and manoeuvrability

Rail-to-rail transitions are immediate and natural, almost like steering the foil with your toes: the feeling closest to a surfboard.

02 Designed for waves at lower speed

You control your speed effortlessly, it's stable in the whitewater and there's no need for long bottom turns to slow down.

03 Low end and good upwind ability

Its high-camber profile gives constant lift, pumps easily back out to the peak and still goes upwind quickly.

04 Versatile across disciplines

Surf foil, K-wing, pocket wing or tow foil.

05 Shines in steep waves

Ideal for short-period, steep waves.

06 Surf feeling

A slightly back-foot-loaded feel to get as close as possible to classic surfing.

Where it shines: surf foiling in steep, short-period waves, free flying with a wing or K-wing in waves, and tow foiling.

*Wing weight according to F-ONE. Official F-ONE data. The highlighted row is the size on this page (740 cm²); each Sushi size is sold on its own page. Aspect ratio relates span to surface area: the higher it is, the more glide and speed; the lower, the more lift, stability and turning. The small sizes are faster and looser; the large ones give more lift in soft waves or for heavier riders.

TECHNOLOGY

Technology and construction

  • TITAN 2 connection: revised design of the joint between mast and wing, the most critical point of the foil: more structural efficiency, stiffness and reliability, with better glide and a more direct feel.
  • UHM carbon (Ultra High Modulus): ultra-high-modulus carbon laminate that goes a step further in stiffness, precision, immediate response and control.
  • DSD (Dynamic Structural Design): F-ONE adapts the carbon laminate to the programme and use of each foil, because construction matters as much as shape.
  • PrePreg carbon: the manufacturer itself impregnates the carbon fibre with epoxy resin, for a more uniform, lighter and stronger laminate.
  • Monobloc front wing: wing and front fuselage moulded in one go as a single piece, with no joint between them: parasitic movements disappear and the feel is more direct and reliable.

COMPARE

Which one to choose?

  • Sushi 680: slightly smaller: faster and looser.
  • Sushi 820: slightly bigger: more lift for softer waves or more weight.
  • SK8: a little more speed and more versatility; F-ONE presents the Sushi as its complement for steep waves.
  • Eagle: if you're after carving bumps in downwind more than waves.

Pair it with: the Tail Carving stabiliser in the 138 XS version (the one fitted to the Plane Sushi 740) and a mast with a TITAN 2 connection such as the UHM Carbon Mast 12, the HM Carbon Mast 14 or the Carbon Mast 16; if you prefer aluminium, the Pack Alu Mast Titan 2 already includes the TITAN 2 top plate and mast foot.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Who is the 740 size for?+

It's a mid size, the range's balance point between speed and lift. If you're unsure between two sizes, tell us your weight, your board and the type of wave and we'll help you.

Sushi or SK8?+

The Sushi has a little less speed and more roll and control; the SK8 is faster and more versatile. F-ONE presents the Sushi as a complement: with steeper waves, short period and a priority on control, the Sushi is the choice.

Which stabiliser should I use?+

On our Plane Sushi 740 it comes with the Tail Carving 138 XS: a Monobloc stabiliser for tight turns, quick pumping and stability even with lots of power.

What's included?+

The Monobloc front wing (wing and front fuselage in one piece). Stabiliser and mast are sold separately.
