Description

DOWNWIND · OCEAN SURFING

Free to carve the bump

The new EAGLE is a high-performance downwind front wing designed for “ocean surfing”: surfing the bumps in open water as if they were an endless wave. Its aspect ratio of 9.5 gives effortless glide and early lift, and its reduced winglets and refined tips give it a manoeuvrability that is unusual in a downwind foil. With very efficient forward projection, it lets you draw your own lines and link bumps with flow and precision.

WHO IT'S FOR

Who it's for

  • Pocket wing, K-wing, wing foil or SUP riders who want to carve in downwind rather than just go in a straight line.
  • Intermediate to advanced riders looking for an accessible downwind foil, with easy take-offs and plenty of glide.
  • Anyone riding steeper or slower bumps: stronger wind and short period.
KEY FEATURES

What makes it special

01 Made for ocean surfing

Its programme is surfing open-water bumps, away from the crowds, linking turns as if on an endless wave.

02 Outline and winglets for manoeuvring

Reduced winglets and refined tips: F-ONE worked on every phase of the turn, from the rail-to-rail transition to pitch stability and the exit, so that everything flows effortlessly.

03 Projection and acceleration

Its profile captures the slightest energy from the bump and turns it into acceleration, so you keep your speed through the turns without the bump overtaking you.

04 Early, accessible lift

A very forgiving low end makes take-offs easier and gives a smooth, secure ride.

05 Versatile across disciplines and conditions

Pocket wing, K-wing, wing freeride or SUP downwind: it performs in all of them.

06 Dynamic Structural Design

New carbon layup for more control, better feel and more performance.

07 TITAN 2 connection

Greater structural efficiency at the joint with the mast: better glide and a more direct feel.

Where it shines: carving downwind, cruising and flow runs with pocket wing, K-wing, wing or SUP; it shines on steep or slow bumps.

SIZES AND SPECS

790 cm² 86.5 cm 9.5 1.08 kg
890 cm² 92.5 cm 9.6 1.21 kg

1290 cm² 110.5 cm 9.5 1.68 kg

*Wing weight according to F-ONE. Official F-ONE data. The aspect ratio relates the span to the surface area: the higher it is, the more glide and speed; the lower it is, the more lift, stability and turning. Small sizes are faster and looser; large ones take off sooner and are more forgiving in light conditions or for heavier riders. Check the selector for the sizes available in store.

TECHNOLOGY

Technology and construction

  • TITAN 2 connection: revised design of the joint between the mast and the wing, the most critical point of the foil: more structural efficiency, stiffness and reliability, with better glide and a more direct feel.
  • UHM (Ultra High Modulus) carbon: ultra-high-modulus carbon layup that takes stiffness, precision, instant response and control a step further.
  • PrePreg carbon: the manufacturer itself impregnates the carbon fibre with epoxy resin, for a more uniform, lighter and stronger layup.
  • DSD (Dynamic Structural Design): F-ONE adapts the carbon layup to the programme and use of each foil, because construction matters as much as shape.
  • Monobloc front wing: wing and front fuselage moulded in one go as a single piece, with no joint between them: parasitic movements disappear and the feel is more direct and reliable.

Eagle on the water

COMPARE

Which one to choose?

  • Eagle X: aspect ratio 12 for faster, rounder bumps (less wind, long period); more glide and speed, less turning.
  • Seven Seas: aspect ratio 8.0 and more surface area: the gateway to downwind, easier to take off.
  • SK8: aspect ratio 8.0 for waves and carving with a wing; if you ride more in waves than in open water.

Pair it with: the Tail Carving stabiliser (the one that comes with the Plane Eagle) and a mast with TITAN 2 connection such as the UHM Carbon Mast 12, the HM Carbon Mast 14 or the Carbon Mast 16; if you prefer aluminium, the Pack Alu Mast Titan 2 already includes the TITAN 2 top plate and mast foot.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Eagle or Eagle X?+

Within the ocean surfing programme, F-ONE says the Eagle excels on steeper or slower bumps (more wind, short period) and the Eagle X on faster or rounder bumps (less wind, long period). The Eagle turns more; the Eagle X glides more and goes faster.

Is it suitable if I'm just starting out in downwind?+

It is one of the most accessible Eagles: it takes off early and is forgiving. Even so, if you don't yet link bumps with ease, the Seven Seas is an easier step before it.

Which mast do I need?+

One with TITAN 2 connection: F-ONE's current carbon masts already have it, and for aluminium the Pack Alu Mast Titan 2 comes with the TITAN 2 mast foot.

What's included?+

The Monobloc front wing (wing and front fuselage in a single piece). The stabiliser and mast are sold separately; if you want the full set, take a look at the Plane Eagle.

Is it safe to do downwind alone?+

F-ONE points out that downwinding requires physical preparation, safety gear (leash, torch, vest) and support on the water. Don't go out alone or without training.
