Description
The lightest, most direct Rebel
Straight from the Duotone lab, the Rebel D/LAB is the top-of-the-range version of the big air kite, with an Aluula D/TX frame and Trinity TX canopy. For 2026 it shortens the chord and refines the arc to take off more vertically with less sideways pull, removes the bridle pulleys for crisper bar feel, and recovers sooner out of loops.
D/LAB construction with Aluula D/TX · Sizes 6 – 13 m · Wind 9 – 41 knots · 5 struts
Who it's for
- Advanced big air riders looking for the lightest, most direct version of the Rebel.
- Anyone who wants maximum hangtime and to jump in light wind thanks to a lighter frame.
- Kiteloop riders who value fast depower and very agile loop recovery.
- Demanding freeriders who want the most precise feel in the Duotone range.
What makes it special
01 The ultimate big air experience
For those who love jumping big: explosive lift, maximum height and unmatched control to progress with confidence.
02 Unrivalled hangtime
Its highly efficient profile and ultra-stiff frame give long, floaty flights so you can hold your tricks and land in control.
03 Instant lift
It generates a powerful upward pull with very little bar input: easy, consistent take-offs, whatever your level.
04 Smooth turning and fast depower
Reactive handling and very fast depower to keep everything under control: when building speed, in strong gusts or when correcting in the air.
05 The most intuitive bar feel
A clean, direct connection with the kite: immediate response and clear feedback at the bar that helps you time your jump and improves control and confidence.
06 Exceptional 5-strut stability
The 5-strut frame gives maximum stability and holds its shape, with solid performance even in demanding, overpowered conditions.
Where it shines: high-level big air, kiteloops, jumping in light to medium wind thanks to its reduced weight, and gusty or overpowered sessions.

“The Rebel D/LAB is my Ferrari for big air sessions. With Aluula it offers effortless control and unrivalled hangtime. I love the instant lift with very little bar input, and its stability in gusty conditions lets me push to the limit without hesitation. With this machine I go all out.”
Technology and construction
- Aluula D/TX: a frame material developed with Duotone that combines very low weight with exceptional stiffness. It performs just as well in light wind as in big air and allows flex, torsion and stiffness to be fine-tuned in detail.
- Trinity TX: Duotone's exclusive canopy fabric, developed with Teijin. Its 3x2 yarn weave offers more durability and better dynamic behaviour than 2x2 or 4x4 fabrics.
- Fusion Strut 2.0: joins the leading edge and struts with a single connection: maximum stability, precise and dynamic flight, and reliable behaviour even in tough conditions.
- High-Pressure Closing & Intersegment Seam: high-pressure closures and seams between segments that seal each section properly, prevent deformation and keep the kite's shape even at high inflation pressure.
- Leading Edge Intersegment Seam Construction: seams between the leading-edge segments that increase strength, stiffness and stability in flight. According to Duotone, it's the lightest possible construction for a kite.
- MOD 3S: latest-generation canopy fabric, with three times the tear resistance and much less stretch than previous generations; it holds its profile even in the most demanding conditions.
- Single Stitch Trailing Edge: a trailing edge with a single seam: less weight and less flutter, a cleaner, more aerodynamic profile and a longer lifespan.
- Micro Batten Construction: canopy reinforcement battens 40% lighter than conventional ones: less weight and a cleaner canopy without losing durability or performance.
- Micro Loop Connections: connection loops 40% smaller than on conventional models, to take weight off the leading edge.
- Double-V Pigtails: double-V connection pigtails that spread the line load across the kite: less material fatigue, less deformation and smoother turning.
- Kook Proof Connectors: foolproof line connection points: it's impossible to attach a line in the wrong place when setting up the kite.
- Anti Snag: tape on the wingtips that stops the lines snagging around the kite's tip. It makes relaunching and getting out of the water easier and increases safety.
The Rebel D/LAB 2026 on the water
Which one to choose?
- Rebel SLS 2027: the SLS version with Penta TX: a little heavier but with a very direct feel too, and a 14 m size. The most balanced option for most big air riders.
- Rebel SLS Concept Blue 2027: the Rebel SLS with undyed fabrics and bio-based bladders.
- Rebel D/LAB 2025: the previous D/LAB, without the 2026 profile and bridle changes. Worth a look if your size is still available.
- Evo D/LAB 2027: the all-rounder with D/LAB construction: more versatile for freeride, jumping and waves. The Rebel D/LAB is the big air specialist.
Pair it with: the Click Bar Quad Control 2027 (the most complete, with power adjustment on the bar) or the Trust Bar Quad Control 2027 (simpler), and a twintip such as the Jaime SLS 2027 (freestyle and big air), the TS Big Air SLS 2027 (competition big air) or the Select SLS 2027 (freeride).
Frequently asked questions
Which Rebel D/LAB size do I need?+
It depends on your weight, your board and the usual wind at your spot. As a guide, the 9 and 10 m (16 – 35 and 12 – 33 knots) are the most versatile for an average rider. You'll find more details in our kite size guide.
Rebel D/LAB or Rebel SLS?+
The D/LAB uses Aluula D/TX in the frame and weighs less in every size (for example, 2.90 kg versus 3.26 kg in the 10 m), which makes it more reactive and better in light wind. The SLS, with Penta TX, shares the same big air DNA, comes in a 14 m size and is a very complete option. For most riders the SLS is enough; the D/LAB is for those who want the very best.
What changed from the Rebel D/LAB 2025?+
According to Duotone, the 2026 shortens the chord and refines the arc for a more vertical take-off with less sideways pull, removes the bridle pulleys for crisper bar feel, recovers sooner out of loops and adds Aluula D/TX in the leading edge and struts, plus Fusion Strut 2.0.
Is it good for kiteloops?+
Yes: smooth turning, fast depower and quick, reliable loop recovery. You'll find tips in our article how to do a megaloop and more about the discipline in big air kitesurfing.
Which lines and bar do I need?+
Duotone recommends 22 m lines for the 6 to 10 m and 24 m lines for the 11 to 13 m. It's compatible with Duotone's Click Bar and Trust Bar Quad Control.
