“The Blur D/LAB fits my heavy, powerful style perfectly. Its design and construction make it the choice for medium and large waves: from strong beach breaks to big, fast, powerful waves, I surf with the confidence of having the best gear under my feet.”
Technology and construction
- D/LAB construction: advanced carbon construction that provides agility and response for precise high-performance manoeuvres. It's Duotone's top-of-the-range line (D/LAB = Duotone Laboratory).
- Innegra D/LAB Surfboards: Innegra reinforcement in the critical areas, especially the rails, which increases impact resistance while maintaining lightness and response.
- RMF 3.0 Shock Absorber: memory foam (Reflex Memory Foam) combined with Innegra Shield: lighter without losing strength and, if you make a small dent with your heel, the foam pushes it back out over time. It filters out high-frequency vibrations for a smooth, confidence-inspiring feel when hitting the lip and landing jumps.
- Responsive Flex: optimised bamboo layers combined with composite materials for dynamic flex and torsional response: an agile, powerful board that's versatile in very different conditions.
- Grab Rails: rails designed for grabbing the board in freestyle tricks, which also make it more durable and give comfortable control while riding.
- Multibox: Futures-compatible fin boxes, with side screws and no rear tab: precise, secure mounting, and easy to remove and fit even with sand or salt. Accepts composite Futures fins or fins from other brands. TS-M set as standard.
Which one to choose?
- Blur SLS 2026: same shape and volumes with SLS construction; slightly heavier and more affordable.
- Volt D/LAB 2026: the D/LAB for small, soft waves, shorter and wider.
- Whip D/LAB 2026: the D/LAB for small and medium waves and strapless freestyle.
- Blur D/LAB 2027: the following season's version: according to Duotone it keeps the same dimensions, volumes, weight ranges and weights.
Pair it with: Duotone's Traction Pad Front, the Insert Pad if you want to fit straps, and the Single Surf board bag to protect the rails in transport.
