The Mantis is Cabrinha's all-round wing: reliable power, stability and handling that works just as well on flat water, in waves and in the air. In this fifth generation, Cabrinha moves the profile's point of maximum camber forward to give more power to the front hand, adds segments in the tips to tension the canopy better and introduces a stiff carbon batten that stabilises the trailing edge.

01 Convex dihedral
Extends the wind range with a better balance between power and stability, and gives more directional stability when you hold the wing by the front handle on the wave.

The Load Path panel layout manages the loads and stretch of the canopy: a cleaner, more structured profile in more conditions.

Technology and construction
- Teijin D2 Ripstop canopy: double ripstop fabric made in Japan with D2 coating: more resistance to tearing, UV rays and abrasion, at a low weight.
- Carbon composite batten: stabilises the trailing edge and keeps the profile clean under load.
- Graduated trailing edge panel: spreads canopy tension, improves efficiency when loaded and protects against abrasion when you leave it on the sand.
- Progressive tip twist: tuned for each size so that power delivery when sheeting in and out is more forgiving.
- Widespan handles with Keylock mounts: moulded composite handles with indexed attachment points that eliminate any rotation: Cabrinha's stiffest and most direct.
- Rigid front handle: high-performance handle on the leading edge, with an anti-abrasion patch, for controlling the wing in neutral.
- High-tenacity Dacron and reinforced seams: more dihedral stability and closing seams reinforced with UHMWPE for a long service life.
- Sprint 3.0 dual valve: connects centre strut and leading edge for faster inflating and packing down; deflate valve from 4.5 m.
- Featherlite bladders and TPU protectors: lightweight bladders and tough protectors at the contact points.

Which one to choose?
- Mantis Apex 2023: the high-performance version, with a lighter Ultra HP frame and a slimmer leading edge. For those seeking the most direct response who don't need small sizes.
- Vision 2025: more dihedral and a fuller profile: more power to get going, ideal for light wind and freestyle, with sizes up to 8 m.
- AER 2025: Cabrinha's ultralight, simple wing, designed for freeride and waves in light wind, and it packs down very small.

What size Mantis do I need?+
For a 75 kg rider, Cabrinha gives the 4.5 m from 13 to 27 knots, the 5 m from 11 to 26 knots and the 6 m from 7 to 20 knots. If you're heavier or the wind is lighter, choose the larger size. Write to us with your weight, your board and your usual wind and we'll recommend a size.
What's changed compared with the previous generation?+
The fifth generation moves the profile's point of maximum camber forward to balance the front hand, adds segments in the tips, and introduces the carbon batten in the trailing edge and the Teijin D2 canopy. It also weighs less: the 4 m goes from 2.38 kg to 2.16 kg according to Cabrinha's data.
Mantis or Vision?+
The Mantis has a low dihedral and a powerful profile: it flies more balanced in neutral on the wave, points upwind very well and jumps big. The Vision has more dihedral and a fuller profile: it gets going in less wind, is very predictable and helps with freestyle rotations.
Can it be used with a bar instead of handles?+
Yes. According to Cabrinha, the Mantis 2025 works with its widespan handles or with the brand's Handle Bar. Ask us about availability if you're interested in the bar.
Is a leash included?+
No. Cabrinha states that the leash is not included, so it's worth adding a wrist or waist leash.
