Description

SMALL WAVES · STRAPLESS · ALL-ROUND

The one board that does it all

The Amp is Airush's best-known all-round surf shape, developed with Reider Decker. It combines a flat rocker, for speed and control, with a curvier outline that gives drive and manoeuvrability. The fuller nose helps in light wind and the single-to-double concave soaks up choppy water effortlessly. In this v6 it's thinner, with a more refined rail, and comes in the durable, flexy Reflex Glass construction.

Reflex Glass · Sizes 5'2" – 5'6" · 20.4 – 22.9 L · Thickness 2.0" · With pads

KEY FEATURES

What makes it special

01 All-round surf shape

Flat rocker for speed and control and a curvier outline for drive and turns. The full nose helps in light wind.

02 Fast rocker and manoeuvrable outline

Medium rocker in the tail, centre and nose, with a narrow tail, wide point in the centre and wide nose: speed in small waves and tight turns. The v6 is thinner, with a thinner rail.

03 Durable Reflex Glass construction

Multi-layer glass laminate, double I-Beam stringer, PET sandwich and light EPS core: a tough board that keeps its flex.

Where it shines: small and medium waves, onshore wind, flat water and strapless freestyle.

TECHNOLOGY

Technology and construction

  • High-reactivity glass laminate: multi-layer glass with reinforcements in the highest impact or torsion areas, spreading the load to the outer skin.
  • Double I-Beam stringer: two composite stringers that reinforce the board lengthwise.
  • High-density PET sandwich: multi-layer skin on deck and bottom, resistant to dings and deformation.
  • Light fused EPS core: reduces weight together with the outer skin.
  • Single-to-double concave: soaks up choppy water and gives grip in the turn.
  • Outline: narrow tail, wide point in the centre and wide nose.
  • Grip pads: included as standard.
  • Futures boxes: according to Airush, all its directional boards are compatible with Futures fins.
  • Ecoboard: Airush develops its directional board range with Sustainable Surf following Ecoboard criteria: a smaller carbon footprint, recycled or renewable materials and less toxic processes.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Which Amp v6 size should I choose?+

Airush doesn't give weight ranges. All three sizes are 2.0" thick: the 5'2" (20.4 L) is the most agile and the 5'6" (22.9 L) floats the most. The brand recommends riding the Amp about 4" shorter than the Comp.

What's included?+

The board with grip pads. Fins are not included; the boxes are Futures compatible.

Can it be used with straps?+

Airush gives different information depending on the source about the strap inserts on this version. If you want to fit straps, ask us before buying.

How does it differ from the Amp Team v6?+
