We are going to introduce you to the new Flite99 kitesurf line system from the well-known manufacturer Duotone.
They are in charge of improving all the gear Duotone launches year after year. Thanks to them, we have increasingly safer and better-performing riding systems.
What are Flite99 lines made of?
A Flite99 line consists of a braided line made of 12 strands of Dyneema SK99 which also incorporates a monofilament. The monofilaments and the Dyneema SK99 expand, heat up and contract together. They are also covered with Duotone's V2 coating. This protective layer covers the whole line and makes it more resistant to rubbing and abrasion. In addition, this coating prevents the line from bending, fraying or stretching excessively, allowing it to return to its original shape again and again. So what do we get as a result? A more durable, safer and tougher line.
Differences between Dyneema SK99 and SK78
Flite99 lines with Dyneema SK99 are considered the highest-performing lines available today. They offer 12% more breaking load and 15% less elongation compared with the "SK78” used previously.
