Description

The Mystic Star Longarm Shorty 3/2mm Fzip is a men's 3/2mm long-sleeve shorty with a front zip. The Star has been a Mystic classic for more than a decade, now updated: MX2 stretch neoprene, a pattern designed in 3D with virtual simulation for a better fit, and the Aquaflush system to keep cold water at bay.

Who it's for

  • Anyone looking for a reliable, warm, good-value wetsuit to ride often.
  • Summer sessions and mild or warm water.

Features

  • 3/2mm thickness: 3mm on the torso and 2mm on the arms and legs.
  • Tape at seam crossings: inner reinforcement at the points where seams cross, which is where water usually gets in first.
  • GBS seams (glued and blind stitched): the needle doesn't go all the way through the neoprene, so the seam is watertight and warmer.
  • YKK front zip: chest entry, leaving the back free for more stretch and a better seal.
  • Glideskin neck: smooth, stretchy skin that seals the neck without chafing.
  • Aquabarrier: inner barrier at the entry that stops water getting through.
  • Non-slip cuffs: the sleeves stay in place.
  • Easy entry: opening designed so you can put the suit on and take it off without a fight.
  • MX2 neoprene: Mystic's essential stretch neoprene.
  • Fox Fleece lining on the chest, back and upper legs.

Frequently asked questions

What does 3/2mm mean?

The first number is the neoprene thickness on the torso (3mm) and the second on the arms and legs (2mm): more thickness where you need warmth and less where you need to move.

What's the advantage of the front zip?

Chest entry leaves the back free, so the suit stretches more across the shoulders and back and seals the neck better, letting in less water than a back zip.

What water temperature is it for?

Mystic doesn't give a specific temperature. As a general guide, a 3/2mm long-sleeve shorty works well in warm water, from around 20 °C, although it depends a lot on the wind and how much you feel the cold. Our guide to choosing a wetsuit has the full explanation.
