Description

BIG AIR · FREERIDE

Harlem's twintip for progressing in big air

Designed by Ralf Groesel and five-time world champion Aaron Hadlow, the Ascent is made for riders looking for more height, more speed and more commitment in every jump. It accelerates quickly, takes off with force and lands softly thanks to a carbon and fibreglass layup that is stiff in the centre and softer in the tips.

Carbon and fibreglass · Sizes 135 and 138 · Double concave with centre channel · Made in Europe

WHO IT'S FOR

Who it's for

  • Riders who want to progress in big air and beat their height records.
  • Anyone looking for speed and grip to load the kite hard before take-off.
  • Riders who jump a lot and want softer landings to look after their knees.
  • Powerful freeride in all kinds of conditions, with two sizes for riders up to 80 kg (135) and from 65 kg (138).
KEY FEATURES

What makes it special

01 Push with confidence

The optimised outline and rocker line give it fast acceleration, explosive take-offs and soft landings, for those who want more speed, more height and more commitment.

02 Grip without losing speed

A double concave with a centre channel gives maximum grip without slowing the board down: more control when loading up for take-off and more fun in any conditions.

03 Control and comfort

The combination of carbon and fibreglass makes it stiff in the centre, for solid landings and explosive response, and softer in the tips, for fluid take-offs and soft landings.

04 Unmatched stability

The mix of unidirectional and biaxial carbon eliminates reverse flex: the board doesn't bend the wrong way and conveys stability and confidence to go for big jumps again and again.

05 Made in Europe

It is made in Europe and arrives in eco-friendly, plastic-free packaging.

Where it shines: big air sessions in strong wind, high jumps with loaded take-offs and fast freeride in flat or choppy water.

Between 65 and 80 kg both sizes work: the 135 is more agile and the 138 planes earlier and gives more surface for landing. Check the selector for the sizes available in store.

COMPARE

Which one to choose?

The Ascent is Harlem's big air twintip. To get the most out of it, choose the kite according to how you ride:

  • Harlem Peak: the big air kite Harlem recommends pairing with the Ascent as a jump-progression set-up.
  • Harlem Thrive: more versatile, for those who mix freeride, jumps and waves.

Pair it with: the Harlem Sneaker pads and straps and the Harlem Lead Bar.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Which Ascent size do I need?+

According to Harlem, the 135 × 40 is for riders up to 80 kg and the 138 × 40.5 for riders from 65 kg. If you are in the overlap, the 135 is more agile and the 138 planes earlier and is more stable on landing.

What's included?+

According to Harlem, the board comes with its fins. Pads and straps are sold separately: the Harlem Sneaker is the brand's option.

Can I fit any handle?+

Harlem designs its boards to be used with Harlem handles; other handles may limit the warranty. “Big air” style handles are excluded from the warranty because they can cause irreparable damage to the board.

Is it for beginners?+

It is designed for riders who already jump and want to progress in big air. Its soft flex in the tips makes it comfortable, but its strong points are speed, grip and take-off.

What is reverse flex and why does it matter?+

It is when the board bends the opposite way when loading or landing. The Ascent's mix of unidirectional and biaxial carbon eliminates it, so the board stays stable and predictable on big jumps.
