Description

SURF FOIL · WING

It doesn't just turn: it carves

The SK8 has been designed to surf. Its shape strikes a balance between glide and manoeuvrability that lets you rip a wave apart and pump back to the peak effortlessly. With a wing, it's a fast front wing that points upwind easily and can surf anything from open-ocean swell to the breaking zone. This page covers the previous-generation SK8 HM Carbon in size 1150 cm².

WHO IT'S FOR

Who it's for

  • Surf foilers who want to carve with power and pump back to the peak.
  • Wing riders looking for a fast front wing that points upwind easily for surfing swell.
  • Anyone who already has F-ONE gear with the TITAN connection and is after the large size of the SK8.
KEY FEATURES

What makes it special

01 Aspect ratio 8.0

A balance between glide and manoeuvrability for surfing freely.

02 Outline built for carving

Makes it easy to turn and push hard in fast, controlled carves.

03 Lobe balance

Between manoeuvrability and glide: it surfs freely and keeps pumping efficient.

04 Tips made for whitewater

Designed to touch the whitewater and bring the tip back out without turbulence or cavitation.

05 Unique speed

Perfect for wing surfing anything from open-ocean swell to the break.

06 Monobloc construction

Stiffness, durability and outstanding glide.

Where it shines: surf foiling and winging in waves, powerful carving and swell surfing with a wing.

SIZES AND SPECS

SIZE ASPECT RATIO CONNECTION
1150 cm² 8.0 TITAN

Data from F-ONE's description of this generation. It no longer has a product page on the F-ONE website, so we don't publish span or weight; ask us if you need them. The current version, with full data and TITAN 2 connection, is the SK8. Aspect ratio relates span to surface area: the higher it is, the more glide and speed; the lower it is, the more lift, stability and turning.

TECHNOLOGY

Technology and construction

  • Monobloc construction: pre-preg carbon, very light and strong, with better load transfer and more stiffness between the different parts.
  • HM (High Modulus) carbon: high-modulus Toray M40J fibre, 1.5 times stiffer than the conventional carbon of other constructions.
  • TITAN connection: lets you connect either an aluminium or a carbon mast with the TITAN connection.
COMPARE

Which one to choose?

  • SK8 (current version): third generation: new profile with constant pressure, more roll and TITAN 2 connection.
  • Sushi 1020: more roll and control at lower speed for steep waves.
  • Seven Seas: more surface area and glide for downwinding and light wind.

Pair it with: the Monobloc Tail stabiliser (F-ONE recommended the Carving range, with the XXS 200 Carving for the large sizes) and a mast with the TITAN connection, for example the Alu Mast with the Titan Mast Foot.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Which stabiliser should I use?+

F-ONE recommended the Monobloc Tail Carving range with the SK8: a thin profile and higher aspect ratio for a looser, more explosive feel and faster pumping. For the large sizes it specified the XXS 200 Carving.

How does it differ from the current SK8?+

The current version (third generation) introduces a new profile and outline with constant pressure between the feet, narrower tips, Dynamic Structural Design and the TITAN 2 connection.

Which mast do I need?+

One with the TITAN connection, in aluminium or carbon. With an F-ONE aluminium mast you need the Titan Mast Foot. If you have a TITAN 2 mast, ask us about compatibility.
