Description
Speed to make the most of the ocean
The EAGLE X was born to multiply the speed of the famous EAGLE: it gains in both average speed and top speed. Its low end is designed for easy take-off and comfortable flight, and its glide keeps you in the air even if you make a small mistake. Instead of focusing only on the low or the high end, F-ONE broadened its overall speed range: it can go very fast and also very slowly, for comfortable downwinders with a high average speed. This listing is for the first version, in sizes from 600 to 1000 cm².
First version of the Eagle X · 600 to 1000 cm² · UHM carbon · Monobloc · TITAN connection
Who it's for
- Advanced riders looking for performance or new glide sensations in downwind.
- Wing foil and SUP foil in open sea, from small chop to long swells.
- Anyone who already has a mast with TITAN connection and wants a fast wing from the previous generation.
What makes it special
01 Higher average and top speed
Optimised to reach very high top speeds while keeping a high average speed throughout the run.
02 Wide speed range
Easy take-offs and comfortable flight at the low end, without giving up top speed: fast when you want and smooth when you need it.
03 Fun to carve
Most of the area is in the centre and the tips are narrow: very good manoeuvrability for such a high aspect ratio, and the tips come out of the water without turbulence or cavitation.
04 Fantastic glide
It captures the slightest energy from the ocean and uses it to move forward; the winglets minimise induced drag and every pump turns into forward motion.
05 Monobloc in UHM carbon
Monobloc structure in pre-preg carbon, light and strong, with ultra-high-modulus carbon for maximum stiffness and instant response.
Where it shines: wing or SUP downwind, from small chop to long swells, and runs where average speed matters.
Sizes in this version
| SIZE | CONNECTION | CONSTRUCTION |
|---|---|---|
| 500 cm² | TITAN | UHM carbon |
| 600 cm² | TITAN | UHM carbon |
| 700 cm² | TITAN | UHM carbon |
| 800 cm² | TITAN | UHM carbon |
| 900 cm² | TITAN | UHM carbon |
| 1000 cm² | TITAN | UHM carbon |
The 500 cm² size of this same version is on the Fw Eagle X UHM Carbon 500 listing. This first version no longer has a page on the F-ONE website, so we only publish confirmed data; ask us for span and weight if you need them. The current version, with a new tip profile and TITAN 2 connection, is the Eagle X. Check the selector for availability in store.
Technology and construction
- Monobloc construction: better load transfer and more stiffness between the different parts for maximum control.
- UHM (Ultra High Modulus) carbon: ultra-high-modulus carbon laminate that takes stiffness, precision, immediate response and control a step further.
- PrePreg carbon: the manufacturer itself impregnates the carbon fibre with epoxy resin, for a more homogeneous, lighter and stronger laminate.
- TITAN connection: lets you connect either an aluminium or a carbon mast with TITAN connection.
- Winglets: the tips keep winglets to minimise induced drag.
Eagle X UHM Carbon on the water
Which one to choose?
- Eagle X (current version): new profile towards the tips, more stability and control, and TITAN 2 connection.
- Eagle: aspect ratio 9.5: easier to carve on steep or slow bumps.
- Momentum: the very-high-aspect downwind wing from the same generation, to go even further.
Pair it with: the Monobloc Tail stabilizer in its XS 145 DW version (the one fitted to the Plane Eagle X UHM Carbon) and a mast with TITAN connection, for example the Alu Mast with the Titan Mast Foot.
Frequently asked questions
Which size should I choose?+
The small ones are faster and need more speed to take off; the big ones take off earlier and are more forgiving on weak bumps or with more weight. If you are between two, tell us your weight and your spot and we'll help you.
How does it differ from the current Eagle X?+
The current version keeps the outline but changes the profile towards the tips to gain stability, control and glide, and moves to the TITAN 2 connection. This first version uses the TITAN connection.
Which mast do I need?+
One with TITAN connection, aluminium or carbon. With an F-ONE aluminium mast you need the Titan Mast Foot. If you have a TITAN 2 mast, ask us about compatibility before buying.
Is it safe to go downwinding alone?+
F-ONE points out that downwinding requires physical preparation, safety gear (leash, torch, vest) and support on the water. Don't go out alone or without training.
