Description
Duotone's lightest, most competitive freestyle sail
The Idol LTD is Duotone's competition freestyle sail, in its biggest update since 2014: 200 g lighter thanks to high-tech single-layer reinforcements, without reducing the thickness of the membrane. Its Batten Free Center concept makes it load up smoothly: more wind range, instant planing and acceleration, more control in chop, easier to duck and more lift in jumps.
Sizes 3.6 – 5.2 m² · 4 battens · No cambers · RDM mast
Who it's for
- Competition freestyle riders.
- Freestyle riders looking for lift and a sail that feels very light in the hands.
What makes it special
01 Convex Dacron luff panel
Maximum elasticity with no batten distortion: maximum lift in clew-first jumps.
02 Batten Free Center
A larger gap between the foot batten and the one above the boom: more wind range, more lift in aerial tricks and better balance when flipping the sail.
03 Light Done Right construction
Between 200 and 300 g lighter without reducing the thickness of the main panel, so it keeps its durability.
04 Hollow lower leech
Stabilises the profile just above the boom and stops the leech from fluttering.
05 iRocket 2.0
Each batten's tension is factory-set with a torque wrench.
Where it shines: competition and new-school freestyle on flat water or in chop.

Frequently asked questions
What sail size do I need?+
It depends on your weight, your level, your board and the usual wind at your spot. Send us those details and we'll recommend a size.
Which mast do I need?+
The one the chart gives for your size: type (PLATINUM, GOLD…), diameter (RDM or SDM) and length. Duotone warns that the sail only performs properly with the recommended masts, because stiffness depends on the design and size.
How does it improve on the previous one?+
It weighs 200 g less, and the Batten Free Center gives it more range, more lift and an easier duck.
