ION Kite Waist Harness Riot Light 2026

The ION Riot Light 2026 is a light, hard-shell kitesurf waist harness for riders who want freedom of movement without giving up support. Its laser-cut CURV® composite shell balances flex and stiffness, and at 950 g (size M) it is one of ION's lightest. Matchu Lopes' new favourite.

• Hydro_Cush: moulded EVA inner padding that doesn't absorb water and stops the harness riding up or twisting.

Which size to choose

Official ION size chart. Measure your waist at the height where you'll wear the harness, ideally with your wetsuit on. If you're between two sizes, the smaller one holds better and rides up less; the larger one leaves room for thick wetsuits. Check the selector for the sizes available in store. Frequently asked questions

Does it come with a spreader bar?

Yes. ION supplies it as a complete set: spreader bar with hook, safety knife and handle for the safety leash. You don't need to buy the bar separately.

Riot Light or Riot Curv?

The Riot Light weighs less and has a low profile for more freedom. The ION Riot Curv 2026 gives a little more support and is made in tall sizes.

How do I get the size right?

Measure your waist and find your measurement in the chart above. The harness should feel firm without squeezing your stomach; with use, the foam moulds slightly to your body.
