No. It's an impact vest: it protects your torso from impacts against the water. ION doesn't certify it as a buoyancy aid, so it doesn't replace a life jacket.
Which size should I choose?
Go mainly by the chest measurement in the chart. The vest should fit snugly, without slack, but still let you breathe and twist your torso comfortably.
