Description
The Duotone Lizard is Duotone's trainer kite: a foil kite with nothing to inflate, designed for learning to fly a kite and understanding the wind window before moving on to a kitesurfing kite. It comes in two sizes, 1.8 and 2.5 m², and in two colours.
Who it's for
- Anyone who wants to get into kitesurfing and practise kite control before or after their course.
- Riders who want to brush up their flying on land on days with no conditions for riding.
- Anyone looking for a small, simple kite to get started flying traction kites.
Features
- Foil trainer kite: no leading edge or struts to inflate.
- Two sizes, 1.8 and 2.5 m²: small surface area for learning with controlled pull.
- Two colours: grey (C70) and petrol blue (C84).
Duotone doesn't publish further specifications for this model (wind range, number and length of lines, exact contents of the set). If you need any detail, ask us before buying.
Which size to choose
- 1.8 m²: the smallest size, with less surface area and less pull; the calmest option for your first flights.
- 2.5 m²: more surface area, so it pulls harder in the same wind; more to play with once you can control the kite.
Check the selector for the sizes and colours available in store.
Colour
Grey (C70) and petrol blue (C84). Availability depends on the size.
Frequently asked questions
Is it good for learning kitesurfing?
It's good for learning to fly the kite, which is the foundation of kitesurfing, but it doesn't replace a course at a school. We explain how to get started in how to learn kitesurfing: first steps.
What's the difference from the Lizard without leash?
It's the same kite; the Duotone Trainer Lizard without leash is sold without the leash (the safety strap) and only in 1.8 m².
Can it be used on the water?
Duotone doesn't state water use for this kite. It's a trainer kite; to ride you need a kitesurfing kite.
