Description
Duotone Repair STPU sand is a sheet of repair material with a rough (sand) finish that protects the fabric underneath from wear and abrasion. It's sold in 1 m² pieces and in the brand's colours, so you can reinforce or redo areas of your kite or wing with the same original material.
Features
- Sand (rough) finish: this is the textured version; the smooth version is the plain.
- Wear protection: according to Duotone, its job is to protect the material underneath from abrasion and damage.
- On wings, Duotone specifies it for the seam reinforcements at the ends of the main tube, the canopy edge reinforcements and the stabilizer.
- Format: 1 m².
Compatibility
- Duotone kites and wings with rough STPU reinforcements: Duotone lists it as SS19 onwards (models from the 2019 season).
- Before buying, check on your gear whether the original reinforcement is smooth (plain) or rough (sand).
Colour
C89: turquoise · C72: violet. Choose the one that best matches your gear in the selector.
Frequently asked questions
Plain or sand?
Look at the original reinforcement on your kite or wing: the plain version is smooth and the sand has a rough finish. Duotone recommends checking before you choose. If you need the other version, there's the Repair STPU plain.
Can I repair the kite or wing myself?
For reinforcements and minor wear, yes, but if there's real damage Duotone recommends taking it to a specialist repair workshop. We explain it in our guide to repairing a kitesurf kite.
