The Duotone iBase 2.0 + iTendon is the lowest and lightest mast base of its kind, with a central screw and a release option: you take the joint out by pulling a stainless steel U-pin, with no tools, and the plate can stay on the board. It includes the iTendon, a tendon made from a high-tech BASF material with an integrated Dyneema safety line.

Can I swap the tendon for a joint?
Yes: with the release option you can switch between the iTendon and the Joint (long pin) for iBase in seconds.
How do you change the tendon?
Duotone recommends putting the iTendon in boiling water for a few minutes to soften the threadlocker, and applying a little threadlocker (Loctite 248) when fitting the new one.
