Sizes and recommended weight
| SIZE | VOLUME | RIDER WEIGHT* |
|---|---|---|
| 3'7" × 17 4/5" × 1 5/8" | 16.90 L | Over 45 kg |
| 4'2" × 18 1/2" × 1 5/8" | 20.00 L | Over 45 kg |
*Duotone's recommendation based on optimum performance and control; your level may influence the choice. With the same weight range for both sizes, the 4'2" gives more volume and stability for take-offs, while the 3'7" is more compact and reactive in flight. Duotone does not publish the board weight for this model. Check the selector for the sizes available in store.
«Riding the Soar SLS is an exhilarating experience that has reignited my passion for kitefoiling. The way it glides effortlessly, especially in light winds, is simply magical.»
Technology and construction
- SLS (Strong Light Superior): Duotone's range that pushes performance to the limit with lighter, stronger materials.
- Full PVC High Impact Core: built to take hits: stiffness, strength and durability without unnecessary weight, with a solid feel session after session.
- Carbon construction: high-performance carbon layup, light and very strong; less weight for a quicker response and more stiffness for precise, lasting control.
- Track Foil Mount: the track system lets you adjust the foil position, forward for more lift or back for more control, and lock it in easily.
- Open Foil Tracks: open tracks to mount and remove the foil faster and spend less time on the beach.
- Balanced volume and optimised rails: the extra volume under the front foot gives lift and stability on take-off, and the sharp rails help you keep your balance, point higher and go upwind with less effort.
Soar SLS on the water
Which one to choose?
- Soar SLS 2027: this season's version of the same model, with the same sizes (3'7" and 4'2") and volumes (16.9 and 20 L).
- Indy D/LAB: Duotone's race board, 4'8" and 30.8 L, with a tuttle box for race foils; choose the Soar if freeride is your thing.
Complete it with: the Single Foil boardbag, 127 cm, to carry it protected, and the Combibag if you travel with a board and kites.
Frequently asked questions
What size Soar SLS do I need?+
Duotone recommends both sizes for riders over 45 kg. The 4'2" (20 L) makes take-offs easier in light wind or while you're progressing; the 3'7" (16.9 L) is more compact for riders who already fly with confidence.
Is it a board for progressing in foiling?+
Yes. The extra volume under the front foot, the nose rocker and the larger surface area make take-offs and touchdowns more forgiving, and its carbon construction also wins over advanced riders.
How is the foil mounted?+
With the Track Foil Mount system and open tracks: slide the foil to the position you want (forward for more lift, back for more control) and lock it in.
In what conditions does it perform best?+
Duotone designed it especially for light wind, where the extra volume makes all the difference on take-off, but it works in a wide range of conditions.
