Description
The easy twintip that hides more than meets the eye
Cabrinha calls it the “wolf in sheep’s clothing” of its range. In its thirteenth year in the line-up, the Spectrum has been completely renewed: a new shape with a livelier feel, outward-canted fins and a central channel in the tips that give more grip to go upwind easily or hold more power before the next jump. Whatever your level or your spot, it’s much more board than it looks.
Paulownia core · Sizes 136 – 152 · Medium rocker · Single concave bottom
Who it's for
- Riders who have just finished their course and are looking for their first board.
- Freeriders of any level who want a comfortable, stable and predictable board.
- Spots with choppy water: it absorbs chop and lands softly.
- Anyone who wants to go upwind well from day one and start jumping.
What makes it special
01 Total simplicity
A very forgiving board: according to Cabrinha, the easiest to ride in its whole range.
02 Predictable
Its predictable behaviour lets you forget about the conditions and what’s going on under your feet so you can focus on everything else.
03 Great upwind ability
Its excellent upwind grip helps you make the most of every session and progress every time you go out on the water.
Where it shines: freeride in flat and choppy water, first sessions after the course, first jumps and riding in gusty wind.

*Official Cabrinha data; weight may vary slightly. Cabrinha does not publish a rider weight range per size: as a guide, longer sizes get planing earlier and are more stable, and shorter ones turn faster. Write to us with your weight and level and we’ll recommend a size. We have the 140 in store: check the selector for the sizes available.
Technology and construction
- Grade A paulownia core: vertically laminated wood that optimises strength, reduces weight and lets the board flex naturally.
- All-round flex: a combined flex that gives a smooth, stable ride, reduces vibration and makes linking turns easier.
- Medium rocker: the sweet spot between the high rocker of performance boards and the flat rocker of light-wind boards, with a wide turning radius.
- Single concave bottom: stable ride and soft landings.
- Fins with 4 degrees of cant: angled outwards for more grip.
- Central channel in the tips: more grip to go upwind and hold power before jumping.
- Redesigned deck: revised deck shape to improve the board’s flex and behaviour.
- Centred deck grab rails: to progress in board-off manoeuvres.

Frequently asked questions
Which Spectrum size do I need?+
It depends on your weight, your level and your usual wind. Cabrinha does not publish a weight range per size. If you’re heavier or ride in light wind, a longer size gets planing earlier; if you want agility, a shorter one turns faster. Write to us with your weight and we’ll advise you.
Is it good for learning?+
Yes. Cabrinha describes it as the easiest board in its range: forgiving, predictable and with very good upwind ability, ideal straight after your course.
What’s new in the 2025 version?+
New shape with a livelier feel, redesigned deck to improve flex, central channel in the tips, fins with 4 degrees of cant and centred deck grab rails.
Will I outgrow it as I progress?+
No. Its grip and the pop from the new flex let you hold power for jumping, and the medium rocker keeps it comfortable in choppy water.
