Description
The Switch with extra response and pop
The Switch Team is a high-performance, very reactive freeride board that shines when loading, jumping, landing and cruising. Even in very choppy water it is fun and easy to put on edge. Its thinner rails, tuned flex and outline give it just the right grip to carve turns, with predictable, intuitive rail-to-rail transitions, while the unidirectional central reinforcement between the feet makes it stiffer and gives it a quicker snap for freestyle.
Unidirectional central reinforcement · Stepped rail · Sizes 132 – 141 · Riders 55 – +85 kg
Who it's for
- Freeride riders who have already mastered the Switch and want more response and pop.
- Anyone who enjoys carving turns and jumping on a lively board.
- Advanced or heavier riders who prefer a slightly smaller, stiffer board.
- Flat-water freestyle with a straighter shape than the Apex.
What makes it special
01 Intuitive, refined freeride shape
Thinner rails, tuned flex and an outline that gives just the right grip: predictable rail-to-rail transitions and lots of fun carving turns, even in choppy water.
02 Stepped rail for maximum control
Releases water cleanly and holds its grip when you load the rail before jumping.
03 Unidirectional central reinforcement
A longitudinal beam between the feet that stiffens that area, adds a little rocker and gives a quicker snap to load up and jump higher.
Where it shines: powered freeride, carved turns, jumps and flat-water freestyle; it handles choppy water well.

Airush data. According to the brand, its stiffer construction makes it a great fit for advanced or heavier riders who prefer a slightly smaller board. Sold as board only with fins and handle (no pads or straps). Check the selector for the sizes and colours available in store.

The Switch without limits
Airush starts from the Switch, removes some fibreglass to lighten it and adds a longitudinal reinforcement between the feet. The result: more stiffness and a much quicker snap. You load against the board and feel it spring back and launch you. In the Blue edition, that basalt reinforcement is replaced by two carbon reinforcements, top and bottom, to add liveliness and shed weight.
Technology and construction
- Unidirectional central reinforcement: basalt beam between the feet (double carbon reinforcement, top and bottom, in the Blue edition): more stiffness, more rocker and more snap.
- Lightened AR Glass: the Switch's fibreglass laminate with less fibre to save weight, focused on durability and response.
- ABS-reinforced rails and inserts: no more inserts ripped out by hard landings or crashes, with boots or with straps.
- Paulownia Multizone Biotech core: vertical sandwich of paulownia wood with uniform density; response, durability and smoothness.
- Thin stepped rails: just the right grip to carve turns and a clean release from the water.
- Refined 3D shape: straighter outline than the Apex, ideal for flat-water freestyle.
