FREESTYLE · PARK · WAKESTYLE

Airush's most aggressive and toughest twintip

The Livewire is Airush's freestyle, park and wakestyle board: lots of performance without giving up comfort. With boots or straps it responds instantly, grips hard and has a pop that launches you into the next trick. Its HD Grindrite sintered base, deep-channel concave bottom and high rocker make it the most aggressive and durable board in the range, designed for those who want to level up in the park.

WHO IT'S FOR

Who it's for

  • Freestyle and wakestyle riders who ride powered, with boots or straps.
  • Anyone who wants to get into the park: kickers, sliders and obstacles without worrying about damaging the base.
  • Cable park riders looking for a wide, tough platform (size 147).
  • Weights from 55 kg to over 85 kg, in four sizes.
KEY FEATURES

What makes it special

01 Mid-weight Triax fibre

The Duratech Response laminate with Triax technology gives direct response underfoot and the strength that hard landings in boots demand.

02 Fine-tuned flex

A flex tuned to load the rail hard and pop off it, without losing comfort in long sessions.

03 HD Grindrite sintered base

A very hard ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene bottom sheet that withstands beach starts, sliders and all kinds of obstacles.

Where it shines: powered freestyle, wakestyle in boots, kickers and sliders in the park and cable park.

SIZES AND SPECS

SIZE (CM) RIDER WEIGHT STANCE FINS
138 × 41 55 – 70 kg 46 / 50 / 54 cm 4 × AK GFN 25 mm
140 × 42 65 – 80 kg 46 / 50 / 54 cm 4 × AK GFN 25 mm

147 × 43 Park and cable park 46 / 50 / 54 cm 4 × AK GFN 25 mm

Data from Airush. The brand does not give a weight range for the 147: it's intended as a bigger platform for park, cable and wake tricks. If you're between two sizes, the bigger one planes earlier and lands more stably; the smaller one turns faster. Only the board is sold, with fins and handle (no pads or straps). Check the selector for the sizes available in store.

COMPARE

Which one to choose?

  • Livewire Team V8: same chassis with a different tune. Designed for competition freestyle, with a squarer tip, more tail area to load and jump, more stability on fast landings and a lighter carbon construction. The Livewire is more comfortable and is designed for the park.
  • Livewire Air: if you're more into jumping high than the park, it's the big air twintip of the Livewire family.
  • Apex v9: versatile freeride and big air twintip, for those who don't ride with boots or aren't after the park.

Pair it with: the Airush Team Bar v2, designed for freestyle and unhooked riding.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What size Livewire V8 do I need?+

According to Airush: 138 for 55–70 kg, 140 for 65–80 kg and 142 for over 85 kg. The 147 is the big platform for park, cable park and wake. Between 80 and 85 kg, the 142 will give you more stability and the 140 more agility.

Can it be used with boots?+

Yes, it's designed for boots or straps. The ABS-reinforced inserts withstand the load of boots on hard landings.

What's the difference from the Livewire Team V8?+

They share a base, but the Team has a squarer outline, a different flex and carbon construction, geared towards competition freestyle. The Livewire is more comfortable, tougher for obstacles and comes in the 147 size.

What's included?+

The board, four 25 mm AK GFN fins with their screws and washers, and the AK handle. Pads, straps and boots are not included.

Is it for beginners?+

It's not ideal. It's an aggressive board with lots of rocker, for riders who have already mastered jumping and want freestyle and park. For learning and freeriding, the Apex v9 is easier.
